The Manitoba P.E.O. Foundation

The Manitoba P.E.O. Foundation, established in 1988, provides educational and charitable grants to qualified women who desire higher education and are in need of financial assistance.

The granting of educational and charitable grants is administered by a board of directors who are members of the Manitoba–Northwest Ontario Provincial Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

The maximum education grant amount is $2,000.00. Grants are issued twice annually, June 15th and November 15th. Lesser amounts may be awarded based on funds available in the current year’s grant budget and applicants’ individual needs.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Manitoba resident for six consecutive months prior to application
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Aged 18 or older
  • Accepted to an accredited academic or technical institution
  • Not receiving Employment Assistance

A Manitoba P.E.O. Foundation educational grant is for expenses such as:

  • Tuition
  • Books, supplies
  • Transportation (only for estimated cost of gas, parking, and local bus fare)
  • Childcare (only while in class or studying)

All donations are directed through The Winnipeg Foundation – The Manitoba P.E.O. Foundation Fund. The Manitoba P.E.O. Foundation receives contributions in the form of cash gifts, bequests, and unreceipted P.E.O. chapter donations.
